| The Blue Jackets just wouldn't go away, but eventually they just ran out of clock. Columbus scored the final three goals of the game coming back from a 5-1 deficit and nearly tied the game in the final minutes but the Panthers held on for the win. With 18 minor penalties in the game there were multiple opportunities for each team on the power play. The Panthers scored once in six power play chances while the Blue Jackets scored once with the man advantage in four tries. Olli Jokinen received the top star with a goal and an assist. Bobby Holik was the second star of the game with his goal and assist and Nate Horton's two goals was enough to earn the third star. Roberto Luongo was roughed up a bit by the visiting team as he stopped 21 of 25 shots against him and was 3-5 on GRs. Visiting goalie Fredrik Norrena stopped 36 of 41 shots against him and was a miserable 4 for 9 on GRs. Norrena was pulled with over a minute to go in the third period but the extra skater was not enough for the Blue Jackets to get the game tying goal. Though it's not a done deal, it looks as though the Panthers may face off again in the first round with this good Columbus team. The fans in Miami think it's better than facing the Penguins in the first round, though they know Columbus is a very tough opponent as well. Bring on the playoffs! |
