| After a horrible third block, Roberto Luongo put together a fine game in net mystifying the the New York Rangers shooters. Luongo stopped all 17 shots he faced and earned his second shutout of the season as the Florida Panthers defeated the New York Rangers 3-0 at the Bank Atlantic Center. For the first time Olli Jokinen played on the blue line on the power play hoping to give Florida a boost with the advantage, but as has been the case lately, the Panthers failed to capitalize on the power play. Jokinen pummeled the net recording 13 shots on goal, but in the end settled for an assist on a late goal by Kristian Huselius to cap the Panthers win. Lundqvist hammered Huselius with the goalie paddle after that late goal and Huselius is doubtful against the Blues in the next Florida home game. The league had no official comment on the cheap shot, but a source at the league office speaking on the condition of anonymity said that the commissioner is looking into the hit. "I'm not saying that Lundqvist will be penalized for the hit, but the commissioner's office is looking into it," said the unnamed source. "It was probably just a case of frustration on the part of the Ranger's goalie." |
